Our first member whose name was chosen to have his car featured in the "Car of the Month" was John Jones (I swear it wasn't fixed).
John is the proud owner of a 1969 Olds Cutlass Convertible.
Back in 94' he saw two Convertibles sitting in a field in Bowie looking pretty shabby. He tracked down the owner and purchased both of them knowing he'd need one for a parts car.
After stripping one down, welding parts on and straightening what he could he set out to get the title. The car, which had been sold with a certificate of salvage, was a real pain to get switched back to a title and it didn't help matters that the last owner had already filled out the new owner information, and had never registered the car in her name.
Once that was all taken care of John started getting serious about getting the car on the road.
I still have a lot to do, as most of you know projects like these are never ending. I am still in the process of rebuilding the motor (bigger cam, bigger carb, new intake, a little bit of head work, etc.) It never seems to be fast enough!"
